Abed Ventures Inc. is searching for a motivated and seasoned Senior Compliance Officer to guarantee that our business processes and transactions follow all relevant legal and internal guidelines. Your duties will include developing company policies, and responding to policy violations.

The ideal candidate will be professional, highly-analytical, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. To prosper in this role, you should be fluent in risk management and our industry’s principles.

Years of experience: 5 years’ minimum proven experience in a Compliance Officer role.

Job Description:

Implement and manage an effective internal legal compliance program:

  • Develop and review company policies.
  • Advise management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.
  • Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
  • Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks.
  • Assess company operations to determine compliance risk.
  • Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes.
  • Resolve employee concerns about legal compliance.

Manage client journeys through a previously established process, ensuring clients are fully compliant with the jurisdictions they interact with in addition to international standards.

  • Ensuring proper documentation is provided and filed by clients, with active and professional communication and clarification.
  • Providing said documentation to appropriate government authorities, through established channels and processes.
  • Providing regular and timely updates to clients on the status of their applications and accounts.
  • Remaining available to clients for miscellaneous assistance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, compliance, governance or a related field.
  • ICA/ACAMS certification or equivalent
  • Experience in cryptocurrency compliance would be an asset
  • Good knowledge of KYC, AML/CFT requirements, standards and procedures.
  • Experience of working on KYC, AML, CFT and Data Privacy laws and matters of the Caribbean and other major jurisdictions. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly-analytical with strong attention to detail.
