If you have excellent administrative, organisation and communication skills, this position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role supporting the work of the Advocacy, Nations and External Relations team at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
The CMA is the UK’s world-leading government body established to make sure competition works in consumers’ favour and businesses treat their customers fairly. What we do really matters and makes a difference to people’s lives. The Advocacy, Nations and External Relations team is the CMA’s centre for stakeholder engagement with business groups, governments, and elected representatives of the four nations of the UK.
As the team’s Coordinator, you will provide support to the management team and the wider team based across the CMA’s offices in each of the four nations of the UK. The role is extremely varied, offering the opportunity to work across the team’s functions, including external relations and stakeholder engagement, parliamentary monitoring, and supporting team management and tracking our portfolio of work.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working on team management activities, including budget-setting and monitoring, business continuity planning, managing the team SharePoint area and intranet
- Stakeholder engagement support across the whole of the UK, including arranging meetings, sending key announcements, keeping stakeholder lists updated
- Supporting CMA external events, both online and in person across the UK
- Collecting and maintaining key management information, including the team’s portfolio of work
- Meeting management, including scheduling meetings, booking rooms, producing agendas, and minuting meetings as required
You will need excellent organisational skills, including the ability to sort and maintain records, files and databases. You will also need the ability to communicate with a wide range of people, work well in a team, and have the ability to prioritise and deliver at pace to meet specified deadlines.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is equally important.
