CoreFactor is searching for a Senior Business Analyst, Underwriting, on a permanent/full-time basis for a client within the Insurance Domain.

This is a hybrid position which will require the successful incumbent to travel to client sites within Canada and the US.

The Role

Our client is seeking a driven individual with insurance and technology experience. You will join a dynamic and fast paced team where you will play a business analyst role on key accounts. Your role will combine your insurance expertise with business and systems analysis skills to manage the client relationship. Qualified candidates must have experience at an insurance company or in software solutions for insurance companies. Travel will be required as part of the position, though trips are generally no more than 3 days and happen once every 2-3 months, per project. Travel is predominantly in Canada and the U.S.

Role Responsibilities

  • Implement (configure system, document requirements, present progress & support, and train users) our flagship product
  • Liaise with clients in a front-line support role, building a positive relationship and responding to communications in a timely fashion
  • Gather requirements through a variety of methods including site visits and meetings
  • Work closely with development team to ensure solutions satisfy client needs as well as balancing the tradeoffs between simplicity, usability, performance, and functionality
  • Test releases to clients against the documented business requirements, mainly in underwriting workflows
  • Document both high level and detailed requirements in a manner that can be easily understood and transferred
  • Develop and educate stakeholders on system and insurance best practices
  • Create training materials and provide an appropriate level of knowledge transfer (internal and external) to ensure continued success for the customer and the team
  • Work with Project Management to ensure that deliverables are met based on the project plan with quality in a timely fashion
  • Challenge current processes both internally and externally and providing recommendations on how to improve
  • Contribute to core product enhancements
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Insurance, Technology, or similar discipline
  • Prior experience at an Insurance Company, vendor implementing policy administration systems or consulting for insurance
  • Working towards or holding CIP designation is considered an asset
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities while meeting client and company deadlines
