Aim of the Information Technology Department

This is an exciting opportunity to join Menter a Busnes in support of our ongoing growth plans.

The IT team is responsible for:

  • managing the effective and efficient operation of the company’s technology systems, with a particular focus on reliable performance, security, and continuous development;
  • providing high quality full support services to staff

The IT Co-ordinator will work closely with in-house IT colleagues and external service providers to provide IT services, through ensuring that staff receive suitable and reliable technical support, ensuring that the maintenance of systems and problem solving are performed to a high standard, and working on the IT Department’s developments, with a responsibility for more complex and technical elements as well as their success.

  • Work closely with the IT team to provide high quality IT services
  • Providing comprehensive support to staff remotely and/or face-to-face, by responding professionally to queries, resolving them effectively and efficiently, and offering quality customer service
  • Being a third point of contact regarding help desk enquiries, offering support and training to IT colleagues, sharing information, helping to solve enquiries and escalating tickets where applicable
  • Support staff in adopting and using new technology, organizing and/or providing advanced training, and transferring information as required
  • Supporting the Senior IT Assistant with recognising requirements, procurement and ordering hardware, software, and IT services, whilst ensuring suitable specifications and features, relevant expenditure and value for money
  • Be proactive in investigating and resolving incidents and problems, administering systems and ensuring continuity of operations, receiving escalated cases
  • Administering, servicing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure throughout the Life Cycle (computers, mobile devices, telephone systems, videoconferencing, printers, networks, network equipment, servers, routers, firewalls, switches, wireless access points)
  • Administering, servicing and maintaining the company’s core systems and software (Email and productivity system, content storage and collaboration solution, anti-virus and security system, backup system, remote monitoring and management system, patch management system, mobile device management system, content management system, client relationship management system, and several software-as-a-service solutions)
  • Actively contribute to IT developments and projects, take on escalated tasks, lead on complex or technical work, and ensuring completion within timescales
  • Support the IT Operations Manager on projects’ IT budgets, through planning hardware refreshes, co-ordinating with managers to agree on suitable expenditure based on their requirements, and ensuring value for money
  • Support the IT Operations Manager by maintaining and co-ordinating various suppliers’ contracts, as well as authorising invoices and foreseeable/ordinary expenditure.
  • Keep all records, documentation, and IT databases neat, accurate and up to date
  • Visit company offices as required to complete installation, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Work closely with the IT team to protect company data, working to reduce the risk of data loss, accidental data destruction and data theft, and to be proactive in identifying and assessing threats
  • Contribute to developing bilingual IT policies and documents in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and good practice, and advise and assist staff on the correct interpretation and implementation of these, including the creation of easy-to-understand training material, and report on policy breaches
  • Work closely with the IT Operations Manager to ensure the company successfully maintains the Cyber Essentials Plus standard within set timescales, and to be proactive about the elements that fall within their responsibilities


  • Work on other Menter a Busnes projects as required, including commercial ones
  • Ensure that the IT team’s standards of quality, customer service, equality and diversity, health and safety and biosecurity are met
  • Accept other reasonable duties and responsibilities and represent Menter a Busnes as required
