The Appointee Should

  • NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults)
  • At least 1 years’ relevant experience, preferably in a mine environment
  • Computer skills (MS Office and Symplexity)
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre.

Key Responsibilities Include

Administrative support

  • Types all letters, memos, notices and reports as required.
  • Captures data and statistics as and when required using relevant programme.
  • Maintains a high standard of professionalism by, communicating with both visitors and staff in a positive, helpful and polite manner, in order to reflect well on the department.
  • Ensures that the reception area is neat and orderly at all times, by reporting any work that needs to be done verbally to the cleaning contractors.
  • Handles electronic, incoming postal and hand delivered correspondence, by capturing details on mail register e.g. date, contents, sender, recipient, action taken.
  • Uses own discretion as to urgency and acts accordingly e.g. informs recipient telephonically.
  • Assists with the bookings for meeting / board rooms on request by capturing information on computer and ensures that clashes do not occur and makes contingency plans if necessary, confirms details with relevant person.
  • Books out all audio-visual equipment for the meeting rooms and ensures that the equipment is returned in good working order.
  • Reports any faulty equipment to the supplier or repair company.
  • Takes messages if required by recording the relevant details, and ensures that the appropriate person(s) receive the message promptly (e.g. placing the note in the pigeon hole of the department concerned / e-mailing the message to the individual).
  • Answers internal queries directed to him / her or refers the enquirer to the appropriate person to deal with the issue.
  • Performs any other activity necessary for the effective completion of his/her work.
