The role

We are working on closing our growth funding to turbo charge our growth – both commercially and in headcount. As we double in size from about 100 people in 2022, we are building out our People function to support, challenge, and evolve Speechmatics. We are in process of going from a team of 3 to a fully formed People and Talent team of 12 and this role will play a key part in making this a success. Together we will build something truly unique.

There will be an initial focus for you to support the Technology and Product teams globally (UK, Czech Republic, and India). Until we have the full team in place, we will also share the partnering for other teams in the business (e.g., Marketing, Commercial, Finance). Partnering closely with the tech leaders, this role is focused on creating proactive culture change, passionately driving engagement for these teams, and delivering many people initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Be a trusted adviser and proactive partner to the CTO, VP Machine Learning, and product leadership on all things people; listening, coaching, and advising them on actions required for the best outcomes to drive performance and business growth.
  • Partnering with leadership and management globally to:
    • Support the org design to make sure we grow in the right way
    • Create a collaborative working environment in a hybrid setting
    • Help us introduce important structure and process around performance, talent acquisition, and compensation
    • Drive and support all career progression and development programmes
    • Unleash culture initiatives for the teams to maximise engagement
    • Design, build, introduce, and iterate on People products together with your People colleagues.
  • Influencing leaders and managers to create high performing teams encompassing diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and adoption of cultural values and behaviours.
  • Work with the leaders to initiate and support them on appropriate solutions for learning and development, from the programmatic to informal brown bag lunches, peer learning and personalised learning needs.
  • Using people analytics data to track insights and interpret people trends for quick and accurate decision making.
  • Developing strong relationships with the Senior People Operations Partner & the Engagement Manager to support the development of a world class employee experience.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to deliver clear hiring plans, solve for talent and resource gaps, support on on-boarding and sync on candidates’ career and development plans. Be on a constant look out for talent and market trends to best hire and retain our team members.

Who We Are Looking For

  • A passion for delivering business outcomes through People initiatives.
  • Proven relevant People/HR partnering experience in a scaling technology business.
  • Experience of creating, not just using, innovative HR ideas and best practices.
  • Ability to win hearts and minds of intelligent and curious colleagues by communicating clearly and confidently.
  • Experience operating in environments where priorities change and there is an expectation to support colleagues with things outside our job description.
  • A track-record of making companies better places to work, with the evidence to back this up.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
