Due to increased demand for rheumatology services we have an opportunity for a dynamic and motivated doctor to join our department. The successful applicant will join a team of 7 Rheumatology Consultants, 5 Nurse Specialists and 2 Speciality Training Registrars (STR). Rheumatology outpatient services are delivered across the three hospital sites with acute inpatient work mainly on the Pinderfields site. Office accommodation and secretarial support is available at both Dewsbury and Pinderfields.

The department offers a supportive and encouraging environment in which to develop as a professional and in a specialist area of interest. The department already offer combined clinics with pediatrics, respiratory and dermatology, and provide an ultrasound service for Rheumatology. There are strong links with the Academic Unit of Musculoskeletal Disease in Leeds, with the opportunity to attend the weekly academic afternoon seminars. The post attracts 10 Programmed Activities with no on call commitment.

Applicants should possess, or be within 6 months of receiving a CCT at the time of the advisory appointments committee.

The appointment will be on the basis of the new consultant contract laid down by the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff Terms and Conditions of Service and will be remunerated as appropriate on the salary scale £84,559 – £114,003 per annum.
