Leakage Analyst

Salary: £26,735 – £33,419 dependent on experience + annual bonus + pension + 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Location: Hybrid role working from home and office working from Leeds and Sheffield offices

Purpose of the role

As a Leakage Analyst, working alongside a team of specialised analysts you will focus on analysing and interpreting data for Yorkshire Water to achieve its regulatory commitments for leakage reduction.

This office-based role uses multiple analytical platforms to identify areas for the leakage find resource leakage to identify and reduce unaccounted for water from the water distribution system.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage and priortise daily workload of 175 leakage find resource
  • Interrogation of latest flow time series data to identify trends and priories investigations for Active Leakage Control resource
  • Manage the Netbase Campaigns end to end process – from identification of area for detection through to monitoring results of repairs and resulting leakage benefit
  • Management of the Acoustic Logger Suite – including analysis of acoustic loggers and selection of those for leakage investigation or maintenance repairs
  • Management of specific point of interest leakage investigations
  • Escalate priority burst leaks promoted by Leakage Find Resource
  • Produce reports on performance and activity
  • Active engagement in SMART PoC initiatives and trials

Knowledge and Skills Required

Essential:

  • Demonstrate proven analytical skill
  • Experience in data analytical platforms
  • Effective communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work on own initiative and self-manage
  • Effective time manager in order to meet stringent timescales, ability to multi-task
  • User of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Effective decision maker
  • Diligent and strong attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Technical understanding of the water distribution network
  • Experience in Netbase, Permanet or other flow and acoustic data platforms
  • Advanced user of Excel and or PowerBi
  • Experience of working within the water industry across waste and clean water
  • Educated to degree or higher
